I realized I had a couple marks were the scope rail sat on the barrel and on youtube saw someone fixing scratches.

I have a couple and use them once in awhile. But after awhile my guns start to show their age and I don't bother anymore. But they do come in handy with a newer gun. Be advised they will not match most finishes 100% and will come off with most gun cleaners. But they can come in handy for those first couple scratches on a new gun, then after the newness wears off and the training with builds up. You won't care about the scratches anymore.Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you. -
I've used a few different brands and types over a lot of years.
Sometimes they work and hold up well for me....
Sometimes they work and hold up not too bad for me .....
Sometimes they just don't want to do much of anything .....
No real rhythm of reason that I could ever figure out.
I'll try it .... if it works it works ... if not .... then it don'tIf you start thinking like a Free Man

i used a black Sharpie a few times, minor cosmetic cover-up, worked well enough
now i don't really care anymore - i keep my guns in tip top working condition, that's what's important, how they function - finally figured out that a little scratch or fade is no big deal, some people even say it gives the gun some historyOriginally posted by BarangI! hate! you! FalconLair.

Black sharpie works for me.A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Don't bother, plenty of guns being sold these days with deliberately crafted "used" finish.
