Last minute sales and guys are selling $750 rifles for well over $1500 and Anderson or Aero Precision lowers for over $200? M&P AR rifles for $1100 bucks, are you kidding me? VEPR that you can buy right now for $800 selling for double and triple that? REALLY?

Given its the 20th, its basically too late for sellers anyway if they are trying to get them through before the new year.

If it's any consolation to OP, if the parties have not yet met to complete the transaction, it's probably too late now, and the value of any rifle that the "gouger" has tried to sell will have plummeted. They got a little too greedy, and yes, they now possess something that is priceless, but if you can't extract a value from the asset, what's the point?

The best they can hope at this point is selling it featureless, which would be in competition with all of the other featureless rifles that the gun stores and everyone else will be offloading. They also have the option of selling it out-of-state, I guess, but the last I checked, there's no heightened demand elsewhere in the country that would justify the high prices sought here. With the gun-friendly incoming administration, nobody is anticipating one, either.
