PSA- MOST SHOPS AREN'T DOING PPTs ANYMORE

Over 90% of the shops in NorCal are done doing long gun and receiver PPTs for the year. If you are still trying to buy or sell, I highly suggest calling around to find a shop still doing transfers in your area. As far as I know Gun Vault in Mountain View is the only one still transferring long guns and receivers as of 12/19. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

    Good luck [emoji1360]

Try AAA sporting good in Vallejo and Metal Dog Tactical in San Jose, that may still do PPT for long guns

Metal Dog denied me multiple times over the past few weeks, even for a hand gun.

I did PPT there last week. It took about 30 minutes to complete the paperwork for an AR pistol. They was not too busy at all.

I spent over an hour calling all the shops I could think of. I kept getting this attitude from them when I would ask if I could do a PPT. Sounded like they are getting annoyed with 100 ppl calling a day asking the same question. Going to Gun Vault this morning and hoping for the best. The wait will be terrible, they said expect for it to take about 2 hours when I called.

This is everywhere now and has become the norm. The reasonable logic of not wanting to be stuck with evil assault guns that will turn into pumpkins at the stroke of midnight on 01/01 has transmuted into "no ppt's period." If you are trying to transfer something not affected by pending legislation, just wait. Trying to do any PPT anywhere right now will be problematic in many cases.

The local FFL's that I use faithfully are swamped and I am staying out of their cheerios until this current rush is over.

Some people place no dollar value on their time. It is no different than the folks who set up a hobo village and pooped in a cardboard box for a week outside Best Buy to get dibs on some crappy $99 Vizio TV with a free no name hdmi cable and $2 gift card.
