    looking for a thread by some one who completed an 80%

    Therr was a thread posted yesterday by some one who finished an 80% raw lower and stamped it with harbor freight punches. Cant seem to find it at all can either the OP contact me or can some one link it to me if they find it please

        The stamping does not look deep enough.
        Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
        I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

          Yes, I got the same punches, and to make it deep enough, it distorted the aluminum.

          Still looking for another way...

            Yup. I thought abouy stamping it. If you want to stamp it, you got to do it before drilling and only on the section that isnt milled out (fcg area). Even then youll have to pount pretty hard to get it to stamp. I tried it on a block of 6160 aluminum.. dodnt work so well so i went another route.

              Use the smaller stamps, and support the magwell inside with an aluminum block.

              The large stamps will distort the mag well before they mark deep enough. The smaller HF sets will stamp steel just fine, aluminum is easy.

                Ok thanx guys, the OP of the thread looked like he did a great job but i wanted to see it to verify but couldnt find the thread, debation wheather i should just engrave it but dont wana pay alot for lowers i might **** up
