AMMO question .300 WM compared "Sierra MatchKing?"

So I am looking at ammo and I was told that would be great for accuracy. Which of course... is really pricey stuff.

Then I came across some Fiocchi 300 Win Mag 190gr Sierra MatchKing --a lot more reasonable.

So my question is what is Sierra Match King? And if they're both really "match" ammo --wouldn't they be the same no matter the maker?

Sierra Match King is a match grade bullet made by the Sierra bullet company.

Both of those loads use the same bullet, but they are not the same load. The Federal Gold Medal Match, also known as GMM...is one of the most consistent and accurate loads you will find. BTHP stands for "Boat Tail Hollow Point"

All firearms are a little different and usually prefer a particular load over another one...I would purchase both of the loads that you mentioned, and as many others with the same specs and try them all in your gun to see which one shoots the best.

Get some of both and shoot them though your rifle to see which performs better.

In my rifle, the Fiocchi yielded a bit smaller groups. They're both pretty consistent though.

Thanks Babu and DRM. The cheapo in me is always looking for the best deal in ammo.

I shoot 308 win out of a custom Remington 700 with an Obermeyer barrel with a Palma 95 chamber. It wasn't unusual to shoot .25 MOA with the Fiocchi. YMMV.

OP did not say what he plans to shoot, but Sierra does not advise using their match king bullets for game. The thrift in OP should encourage him to load his own ammo. I load .300 H&H with match bullets for .75-.90 per round.

Reloading. For sure. As soon as I can afford the equipment and someone teaches me.

                  Last question:

I'm confused -- What's a better ammo of the Fiocchi brand?:

Fiocchi Exacta Rifle 300 Win Mag 190gr Sierra MatchKing

                  or

Fiocchi Extrema .300 Winchester Magnum Match King BTHP 190 Grain Ammo

Or are they about the same?
                  Thanks.
