    moly resin vs gun kote

What is better in flat black for an AK receiver? Durability and finish are of most importance to me.

    What say you?

I've used moly resin on a couple different pistols and it seems to be holding up fine. ruger MKII 22/45 with about 1500 rounds through it since I coated it, and no signs of wear yet. the other is a .44 Desert eagle. slight wear after a couple hundred rounds, most likely my fault due to not properly preping the gun.

I have sprayed them with gun scrubber and break cleaner, and even tried some acetone, and no ill effects.
It's better to have it, and not need it, then to need it, and not have it.

Do you have to sandblast to bare metal and then park. the gun , then coat it in molyresin?

or can you just moly resin over the original clean finish and cleaned bare metal?

does anyone think the flat black or semi gloss black would match a romy AK better?

Looks great. I'd hate to have to repark the whole gun- seems like a good process to go through. Have to have a tank and all the junk.
I'm thinking of just doing moly resin over the nds receiver and touching up the rest of the gun- but i worry it will not be durable enough...

anyone have any good info on park kits? as in tanks, etc? and how nec. it is to repark before doing moly resin?
