    Issues with Proper Cheek Weld

    Hi All,

Anyone else have issues with a proper cheek weld? I've been told that I should try to keep my head level and avoid canting it towards the sight. However, I find it difficult to do this and still get my eye behind the sight (right handed right eye dominant)....probably because I have a wide head and wear glasses. Yes I have a big noggin and have already heard all the jokes you can think of. Just trying to see if anyone has issues with proper cheek weld and has found a solution that works well for them.

    Thanks in advance.

Really hard to say what the issue is without looking at your stance.

I would wager a guess it has to do with your shoulders position and or where you are placing the stock.
IE keep your shoulders more square and make sure the stock is in the "pocket".

I sometimes run a helmet with earpro and believe me i hate fighting cheekweld vs Earpro. I as of late run a KAC high NVG mount and extra spacer and run about 1/2" higher HOB than a typical 1/3 cowitness. And its awesome. No more mashing my face into a stock to run the dot and the stock also sits lower in my pocket. It has its quirks but overall awesome.

Hmm, never thought to add another spacer. Does having a spacer on a riser add any zero issues? or is it pretty solid?

At what distance are you shooting? If it is short, or the same every time, don't hesitate to cant the rifle toward your face if that gets the sights to line up with your eye better.
