    Solar tactical castro valley

I for one will never set foot in this store again.
    1. 1&1/2 hour to do a ppt. This does not include waiting in line. I understand there's a rush and that is out of their control.
Asian guy doing the paperwork had no idea what he was doing. I ended up filling paperwork twice.
    2. According to solar tactical you can only list 1 firearm per dros. I though by adding a lower to my ppt I could save a dros fee and help store out a little by buying something from them. NOPE 2 dros fees. Guy said a ppt and buying new are different transactions.
    3. Took over 1/2 hour to pick up. Again doesnt include wait time, not their fault. They could not find the lowers at first then they said they had safe problems.

Never again, did 2 ppt's and a purchase at city arms plesanthill, i was out in 20 minutes that included bsing with the big Russian comrade...

Agree 100%. Solar was a terrible experience both times i went. Rude employees and questionable business practices. Doms in Livermore is much better.

Every now and then I come across a gun store where I get a "vibe" that they are only really there to sell to their buddies and anybody else is a waste of their time - that's how I felt the three times I've been in Solar Tactical.

Good to know. I was planning on checking this place out.

I did a few PPT's at Metal Dog in San Jose, in and out in 15-20 minutes. Highly recommend if it's not too far of a drive from the East Bay.

I've only dealt with the Solar Tactical in Livermore. Never had any issues.

DOMS in Livermore is great, they have a limited selection though.

They taking PPT's again? Last time I was there a couple of weeks ago they claimed their safe was full and turned us away.

                  Maybe I'm just lucky...

I just started a PPT at MDT last week. I called the day before and they just said come in... no appt needed. In/Out in like 30min.

Funny though, my friend went the day before (the day I called) and got denied.

I also PPT'd at Solar Tactical in CS recently and was in/out in like 30min as well for buying and pickup.

Number 2 is correct. You can't add a gun purchased from the store to a PPT DROS, only more guns from the same seller.

Been in the C.V. Store and never gotten a weird Vibe or anything.
Been in there when it was Bullseye too..
                        And Castro Valley Gun Shop.
(Castro Valley Gun Shop had that vibe to me)

I've bought guns from J&R, DOMS, T.R.A.P., Solar Tactical Livermore, GFOS in Vacaville, and Target Masters.

Only place I didn't like was Target Masters, because they went full retard on their safe handling demo asking stupid questions they are not required to ask.

Target Masters is a place to be avoided in my opinion. I found them to be marginally competent at selling guns, but overall a poorly run store and probably the last place I would ever do a PPT again after they took about two hours to do one on two separate occasions.

Why did just that last month at Camarillo gun store , ppt transfer then bought a shotgun from them while filling out paper work. Same dros one fee....

This is not the case at Annie's, Solar, Dublin GFOS, or Metal Dog, which I have asked during purchases/PPTs. All of the mentioned stores have been good to go for me, sorry, OP, of your bad experiences.
