Not to drag out this story but I purchased some ammo on Black Friday from a number of places to include TargetSportUSA. The ammo from TargetSportUSA was to be delivered on Friday the 2nd along with another package from a motorcycle vendor. On the 2nd, I only received one package, a large box from the motorcycle vendor. I was a little confused because both packages were scanned at the same time, delivered 11:14AM.
Fast forward, and I check surveillance footage. The Fedex truck pulls up across the street from my house at 11:13 and leaves at 11:15, the driver never steps out of the truck. 21 minutes later, an unmarked van pulls around the corner, directly in-front of my house, and a male jumps out, grabs a large package from the back, runs it up to my door, and then jumps back in the van and drives off.
The mystery now is what happened to the box of ammo? The original Fedex truck scanned both packages and within 20 minutes, swapped one of the packages on an unmarked van, possibly personal or contractor vehicle. Fedex has determined that the package is "unable to be located" and advised me to contact TargetSportUSA to file a claim. I am just glad that I paid that extra few dollars for the insurance but my next hurdle is actually getting TargetSportUSA on the phone. Be careful during the holidays, insure packages and ask for signature authority if possible. It seems that Fedex and possibly other carriers use contractors during the holidays and these employees are probably not vetted in the same manner as regular employees.
