I have until the 10th to find a FFL to help do a private party transfer. OC Armory wont take delivery from a private party for some reason? I am buying another SCAR 17 and I need a willing FFL. Found it on Gunbroker and the guys has done several sales before so he legit, I dont understand the reluctance.

OC Armory are good folks, so if they are refusing transfers it's probably because their safe is full due to the rush. Have you tried RifleGear? Or OC Firearms in Costa Mesa? They're good folks too, but might have the same problem as OC Armory.I have until the 10th to find a FFL to help do a private party transfer. I've certainly been called that more than once - I've even seen Kes get called that. I haven't seen Red-O get called that yet, which is very suspicious to me, and means he's probably a DOJ shill.Comment

It's not a PPT. It's a FFL transfer so, don't call around asking about PPTs when it's not.NRA Certified Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor

Actually on one end it is being done by a private party, the seller. That is for some reason a problem for OC Armory. OC Armory wants the sellers end handled by a FFL as well. Now this is new because I have done at least 15 transfers from private sellers who didnt use an FFL on their end with them.Comment

CSA is trying to help you by not confusing terminology.
A private party transfer (PPT) is always face-to-face.
Anything else is not referred to as private party transfer.
They are handled differently by the law. For example, the law defines the maximum an FFL can charge for a PPT. There is no such limit for other transfers.Originally posted by cockedandglockedGetting called a DOJ shill has become a rite of passage around here. When say private party transfer, is it out of state from a private party on Gunbroker ?I have until the 10th to find a FFL to help do a private party transfer. I don't think you will.find a CA FFL willing to take a out of state private party transfer. Has to go thru a FFL.Last edited by baih777; 12-09-2016, 12:56 PM.Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

Just food for thought...one possible reason that an FFL won't receive a firearm shipped from a private party is that if there is a problem with the transaction the FFL can't ship it back to the private party."A vote is like a rifle; it's usefulness depends upon the character of the user." - Theodore RooseveltComment
