    Long gun transfer - shipping

I'm in the Bay Area and found a buyer in southern CA. What is the process like in order to transfer the gun?

Do I need to go through my FFL and ship to buyer FFL?

Or I can just go ahead and ship the long gun to buyer's FFL??

    Thanks

I'm in the process of having a long gun shipped from out of state and my FFL told me that the seller can legally ship a long gun to an FFL without shipping from an FFL. I am not a lawyer but I do trust the FFL who gave me that information. Good luck.
My biggest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them.

You really need to have the buyer find out what his FFL requires as that may determine your course of action.

If buyers FFL is willing to accept from non FFL, then absolutely you can ship directly to him. Some FFL will not accept from private party some will, no law against it, just each FFL has their own requirements they like to follow

Thanks for the input. I only did PPT in the past. It's my first time shipping a gun as a seller.

Just wondering, for PPT, dealer takes my ID, signature etc... In this case, do I need to sign any form from buyer's FFL?

Generally a copy of your CA drivers license will need to be included with the package.
