    Help locating a specific tool

Greetings fellow CALGUNNERS. I have been doing an extensive search trying to locate a 1/16 inch cupped tip short shaft punch. TOPGUN used to carry but doesn't make anymore. I need to remove trigger pin for SIG 238. I have used nail set in another frame but its just not optimal. I know that BROWNELS carries various sizes but not the 1/16 inch or 1.5mm. They carry a lil smaller and a lil bigger. I have no trouble finding long shaft 1/16th inch flat face punch after I get pin started. Thanks for your help in advance for some direction. Happy Holidays all.....I would also not prefer to buy a full set of punches to get just 1.....

If you want a nail set, go to Home Depot. They have 1/16" sets.

If it is a nail setter, it's concave.

I'm really not sure what you're trying to do, but it seems to fit your criteria. A straight punch would probably be my pick.

            Knurled Grip for secure holding
Large, square head provides a large striking surface
            Beveled end prevents breakage
Cupped punch surface to follow nail without sliding off
            Hardened and Tempered
            Made of specially selected steel
Punch diameter clearly marked on the head

What is needed is a "1/16" pin punch". Which has parallel sides on the pin shaft.

A 1/16" nail set is tapered and is only 1/16" at the tip.

A "set" would be OK to install pins the last little bit. But useless to remove pins with.

Example would be Grainger catalog number [24A911] or comparable from any other source. 4 1/2" overall lenght, 1/16" tip and shaft.

No need for a "concave" tip, even if the pin is convex on the end. Flat ended tip works fine.

I was looking for something that shaft was straight to drive pin about 1/2 inch thru frame. Nail set only goes so far....I found what I may need from prior poster. I am going to give 2 tools a try. A set punch and a flat head 1/16 punch that is 9/16 long shaft. Tx for idea tho...

Not in this application...The trigger pin on my p238 has a round head and a flat tip would not work until after the pin has started to move and is counter sunk into frame. Otherwise punch you are suggesting would slide of rounded head and mare the frame. Again, I appreciate the input.
