Firearm Question-Bringing a rifle from another state?

I friend of mine is moving to CA (I tried to stop him but was unsuccessful-actually it's because of j-o-b).

He just has a couple of pump shotguns and a couple of bolt action rifle. I don't think he has any pistols

Does he have to register them with CA?

If so how long does he have?

IIRC, as long as the rifles are not banned by name or otherwise illegal in kommiefornia (or federally), he can bring them.

He will have to register them via the volreg form within 60 days. One form, one fee for all listed on the form.

It is the "New Resident Report of Firearm Ownership' form that must be filed within 60 days. One $19 fee covers all firearms.
