    Chabot Status?

Went for a walk around Chabot Gun Club site recently.

Interesting developments. It appears that a fence is being erected around the range. It seems to start by the entry road near the High Power 200 yard range, goes up the hill and on. Also goes around the 200 yard range area.

    What gives?

I though they were going to provide more access for the gun-fearing hoplophobes, but it seems the whole area is going to be fenced off and off-limits to us peasants.

Have they done a cleanup/lead removal yet? They would have to fence off for that, plus it looks like they have some buildings to tear down, and they wouldn't want anyone to steal the copper wire or whatever.

There is nothing worth stealing from the 200yd area.

Looks like they're in the process of fencing off the entire range. Fence poles go up the hill on the right side of the entry road as far as I can see.

They don't appear to be temporary either, well sunk, concrete footings and about 8' tall.

Maybe it's one of them FEMA camps Glenn Beck used to rant about before he became an Obama sympathizing jack-hole.

Just let some bullet casters out there with shovels and the lead will be cleaned up in no time.

Makes me wonder what they did for the Fort Ord ranges (other than plant crops on them) that you see when driving on 1 into Carmel...

Most every site that I work with that's in demolition phase (or construction phase, for that matter) has non-permanent fencing up. That fencing has concrete posts.

With the decent rain we have received this year, it won't take long for the area to be over grown with grass and typical CA chaparral stuff.

I'll be sad to see that picture.
