Well, of course he can't PPT it; he's not a California resident (apparently).

Why can't he just make it featureless before sending it?

He put a bullet button on it. The problem is no FFL in AZ that I could find wants to deal with CA transfers.

Many CA FFLs will accept CA compliant firearms directly from non-FFL holders from out of state. But the key is CA compliance.

If he feels he has to use an FFL on his end, why not use EBR Works or audiophil? Both are in AZ. That is exactly how I got my Legion stamped SGL31-94. Consider yourself lucky if your brother in AZ is willing to put a magazine lock on his rifle. My own brother in TX is so afraid of violating CA laws, I had to use EBR Works to transfer his gun to me.

BTW, do your local ranges prohibit steel case or steel jacketed bullets? Hornady 5.45 has non magnetic projectile ammo. You'll love the SGL31.

There are lots of rifles that I have wanted but was either broke when they were available. Or were no longer available when I had the money because I still lived in Commiefornia.

There are others that elude me because they are not common and when I do find them, they are priced out of my range. Specifically things like the Sig AMT in 7.62x51. But then I like the more unusual preban rifles.

Thank you for the suggestion. Can you let me know how a non FFL holder can ship a CA compliant rifle to a CA FFL?

Also an FFL in AZ can transfer a gun in Texas to CA? I never knew that was possible. Do you know any FFL in Phoenix AZ that would do it?

It maybe too late to get this info by more since the new laws are so close, but it would be interesting to know if there is a slight chance.

For a rifle you want so badly, 8 hours of total driving doesn't sound that bad. It looks like you're willing to jump through other smaller hoops, so why not take a drive?

I'm willing to make the drive but the member is new and has no itrader rank. Got a feeling he wasn't ready to let the rifle go. I've driven further for a lot less.

Each has his own procedure. With EBR Works, his procedure is to have the seller send him a copy of his DL then he e-mails the instructions. If I recall correctly, he asks for a Bill of Sale to be included in the box.

Yes. Since a non-FFL holder can send a gun to an FFL, the FFL can be anywhere. The gun has to be physically in the AZ FFL hands first, then he transfers it to your CA FFL. What is important is that when it crosses into CA, it should be in a CA compliant state. My brother sent EBR Works his gun, EBR did the compliance mod (or checks that it is done properly) and sent it to my CA FFL.

I'm hearing audiophil has put a deadline on this line of business, but not sure about Michael. EBR Works is in Prescott, AZ, a 2 1/2 hour drive from Phoenix.

Doing my best to make HK fanboy82's Christmas wish come true... I have a discount transfer arranged through Gunslingers gun shop in Glendora, and a AK bullet button on call from Mike at EBR Works in case the OP decides to buy my rifle....

I just purchased the SGL31 rifle from SVT-40, great guy to deal with, can't wait to get the rifle and add to my collection. I was seriously giving up hope on getting this rifle. This is going to be Merry Christmas.
