What's the process for a form 4 in California?

    What's the process for a form 4 in California?

    Anyone here ever dealt with a form 4 in CA referring to a aow shotgun. Need help here.

    Have you checked the DOJ website to see if they allow an AOW?

      highpower, AOWs are legal in CA.

      The issue is the roster: there are none on it. It'll need to be originally built as an exempt weapon, or if you're exempt that works too.

        Related question: When a firearm is modified to NFA configuration, it receives new markings (right?). Does that mean that any earlier history is irrelevant?

          New markings are required under Federal laws/regulations, because the Title 1 firearm is being manufactured into a Title 2 firearm.

          An existing Title 1 (non-NFA) firearm made into a Title 2 (NFA) firearm will have two sets of markings.
          The first set identifies it's Title 1 maker and the second set identifies it's Title 2 maker.

            Still waiting on a form 3 to be approved since April, before I can even start form 4. ATF is stonewalling AOW transfers to CA.
