30 Day Waiting Period - Denial

    Hello Guys & Gals,

I'm new to all of this amazing gun stuff and I have a question, that I think some of you might be able to help me with.

So as the title somewhat entails I was recently denied a DROS (is that the correct term?) because like a dummy I tried to purchase 2 new handguns within the 30 day waiting period.

The first Handgun was a Uberti 1873 Cattleman II.
    Details:
    Transaction Date: 10/27/16
    Earliest Delivery Date: 11/06/16
    Latest Delivery Date: 11/26/16

So that went through perfectly, no problems whatsoever. If I recall correctly I picked up the Uberti on 11/08/16

I was so excited about said gun I had to have another so I went on to Budsgunshop.com and purchased a Smith & Wesson 686-6 Revolver and had it shipped to a local FFL.

    S&W 686-6 Details:
    Transaction Date: 11/02/16
    Earliest Delivery Date: 11/12/16
    Latest Delivery Date: 12/02/16

Obviously shortly after the Transaction date of the S&W the FFL received a denial letter for my DROS.

So after all of those boring details, my question is:

When should I have the Smith & Wesson DROS'd again? Is it 30 days from the 1st Transaction Date of the Uberti? Or the Earliest Delivery Date? Seeing as the DROS for the S&W was denied does that somehow extend the 30 waiting period?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I was really excited to go shooting both handguns at the end of this month, but that isn't going to happen. Now I would just like to know when is the earliest I can take possession of the S&W I've already paid for in full and is just sitting there waiting to be fired.

Thanks a lot for the help.

720 hours after the previous transaction date and time.

Now you have to wait 30 days again (720 hours) from the transaction on 11/2. You will have to DROS the S&W again in December. This is because the law says you can only make one application every 30 days. And you made your last application (which was denied) on 11/2. I would wait until 12/3.

They can fine you for this and if you keep doing it, charge you with a misdemeanor. So keep better track. I always wait an extra day.

      Should have waited until 11/28.

The rule is you cannot submit an application to purchase - aka DROS - more than once in 30 days.

You last submitted on Nov 02.

Now you wait until Dec 03.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Thank you for the quick response. This is a great explanation. Alright so I wait until the 3rd of December. Shoot (no pun intended), now what do in the mean time.

I know I'm new here and this place has probably been around for a while, but a "thanks" button would be a nice added feature. Would have loved to give you guys some positive feed back that you could "carry" with you. In that way others would know you're here to give good meaningful advice. Either way thanks for the help.

That's the plan for now, but I did recently find out how expensive 45LC ammo can be. So maybe no too much shooting with that one.
