    Mayor Bloomberg bobblehead doll

Mayor Bloomberg's anti-gun crusade has won him a new mantle in the Second Amendment world, as a pistol-packing bobblehead doll.

"It's an instant laugh to anybody that looks at it," said Steve Lauer, the Wisconsin gun dealer who commissioned the doll after years as the target of Bloomberg's ire. "I never stop laughing about it."

Lauer stands on one side of the doll holding an AK-47 automatic rifle, while Bloomberg stands next to him with a red Glock handgun and a fake yellow Beretta.

It's not a great likeness of the mayor, but it matches the pose he struck when declaring war on Lauer's firm in 2006 for selling kits to paint guns in bright colors.

Bloomberg said cops and kids could mistakenly assume that neon-colored firearms are just toys, with deadly results.

His remark is emblazoned at the base of his figure: "People will do a lot of twisted things to make a buck."

Lauer thinks the mayor's position is hogwash, and fired back by marketing a line of bright "Bloomberg Collection" colors and a blood-red shade called "Furious Mike."

The publicity juiced sales for his Lauer Custom Weaponry mail-order business, and spurred him to set up a tribute to Bloomberg in a corner of his gun store.

He said he ordered 500 of the dolls and has sold about 100 for $19.99 each - and given away some at a recent national firearms show, where it was a huge hit.

"This is the latest silly stunt from a cynical publicity hound," said Bloomberg spokesman Jason Post. "Thankfully, bobblehead dolls - unlike gun paint kits - don't put innocent lives at risk."

Lauer plans to send one to Bloomberg's City Hall office - where he expects it will end up on prominent display. "I've got a feeling he'll put it on his shelf," Lauer said. "He's always trying to get people to notice him."

Look at the tyranny of party -- at what is called party allegiance, party loyalty -- a snare invented by designing men for selfish purposes -- and which turns voters into chattles, slaves, rabbits, and all the while their masters, and they themselves are shouting rubbish about liberty, independence, freedom of opinion, freedom of speech, honestly unconscious of the fantastic contradiction... Guns don't kill people, gun paint kits do.

I agree Wes, gun paint is eroding America's moral values. Whenever I see a brightly duracoated firearm, I always think "Now that guy is a dangerous dude". Everyone knows hot pink guns are significantly deadlier than standard blued guns.

You know, that is how I know Duracoat works pretty darn good. Those rifles get smudges and thumbprints on them so easy. The first time I took some Shooter's Choice solvent and attempted to get some fingerprints off of it was an intense moment. You know that Duracoat is supposed to last, but come on, it is Shooter's Choice. That stuff takes everything out of your barrel.

Well it won't take off Duracoat. I have tried and it takes the thumbprints right off, but the paint stays.

Drawn is the man to go to if you need Duracoat done. He is the guy who just posted the pictures above.
