    Question on 80%

I know I don't have to mark them until like 2018 or 2019. Just getting a head start because I plan on registering them as AW's. So I too my lowers into a local gun store and they put seriel numbers on them. Said his jig wouldn't do it. I originally wanted my name model and city state put on it but I guess it won't fit so they just put the seriel number on it.

Question 1. Are there any shops in sac that do engraving?
Question 2. Which example is proper?
Question 3. Do I have to use my full name?

Say my name is Benjamin Button living in Cool Ca.

    Example 1.

    Button arms
    Cool California

    Make. Button arms
    Model. Button 15
    Serial number Button0001
    Caliber multi

    Example 2.

    Benjamin Button
    Cool California

    Make. Benjamin Button
    Model. Button 15
    Serial #. Button 0001
    Caliber. Multi

Here's what I went by, skip down to how must firearms be identified. And yes this is Federal regs, so no need for all those to chime in, this isn't Cali regs, this hasn't been put out what you need to do for Cali, and many will dissagree if this suffices since many think the SN has to be assighned by a manufacturer.
But for me, this is what I'm doing.
My legal name, I'm assighning the model numbers "AR-15, M16A1, XM16E1, GAU-5A" for me so far, the city & state where the rifle was made, not where I live, but where I made the rifle, Caliber 5.56 or Multi depending on what it is, and I am assighing them my own SN's making sure not to duplicate any. MY Vietnam retro rifles have SN's based off my DOB, but non period specific retro clones will all be FUCA 0001, FUCA 0002 and so on. Those models will also be models such as FUCA AR-15

Use example 2. You don't need your full name, a recognizable abbreviation or shortcut is acceptable, i.e. Ben Button. Don't need a Make.

But I think the real question is, if you're going to register it, why bother with an 80? Why not just buy a 100% complete stripped lower?

Because they are pistols. Made them back in single shot era 1 then converted them to semi auto. Yes they have bullet buttons on them and 10 round mags. I don't see another way to keep them inside this state without registration. I have plenty of 100%. If I turn them into rifles then I'm in constructive possession of an sbr. That's a no go for me. I like a non hollowed out butthole.

need this info as well. I have a few finished pistol lowers that I made as single shot and converted and will end up needing to mark and register them as well.

I've read (here) that DOJ rejects VolReg of non-exempt pistols.

AFAIK there's no need to VolReg them before registering as AWs.

                    Same.

                    EDIT///

I just ran across this post. https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/...2#post19178332 Apparently the OP has a business in Lodi and can handle this. His facebook link has some basic pricing info too. https://www.facebook.com/Carrillo-Cu...7636838183128/
