    New Dros?

I purchased a rifle for my son to shoot with me, but apparently got the wrong one per my spouse. The shop will cancel the dros and let me pay the extra for the one he wants. Will I get charged a new dros?

Yes you will be charged a new dros. A portion of the fee CA collects, and 10 of it goes to the store. And to be honest, i wouldnt blame the store for making you pay it. Its not their responsibility to make sure you are buying the right gun.

      ^^^^^^^
Not complaining, just curious. Just asking and not liking to be chastised thank you. I have no problem with paying the fee.

Youre thinking of the PPT pricing, there is no $10 for the dealer when youre buying the gun from them. Its just a $25 Dros fee.

Public Where do I find laws regarding the possession of firearms? I'm not sure whether I have a California record that would prevent me from owning/possessing a firearm. Is there a way to find out before I attempt to purchase one? What is the process for purchasing a firearm in California? How can I obtain a Carry Concealed Weapon (CCW) license? Can I give a firearm to my adult child? Can he/she give it back to me later? Can I give a firearm to my spouse or registered domestic partner? Can he/she give it back to me later?

All good. It's for my little boy. I had no idea he wanted a Wood stock and I accidentally purchased a black synthetic one.

I believe they can charge as much as they want to transfer a gun from their inventory.

if it is the same model in the DROS system, they could just do a serial number change to the existing DROS and you wouldn't need to pay for a second DROS and start a new 10-day wait.

basically, the store is allowed to change one item on the DROS without having to cancel the DROS and start over.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Well I went to the store and they did it. No restocking charge and I just paid another $25.
