Purchase Advice: M&P or Wilson Combat

I'm a huge fan of the S&W M&P line up and i just saw this listing for a set of unfired 9mm LEO only M&Ps. I had been saving up for a couple high end 1911's most likely Les Baer and Wilson Combat, probably a Full Size paired with a Commander model, engraved etc. But now im considering these S&W pistols.

The price seems pretty steep, but they are LEO only and off-roster so i feel like they will skyrocket in value the next few years (Am i over valuing LEO only firearms?). Only downsides are they come with 0 magazines and I don't really want the Shield but he wont break up the set. Also I'd prefer. 45 for stopping power.

Should i keep saving for the Custom 1911's or go for the M&P's?

    From the Ad:
    "3 Pistols:
    - 1qty: 5" Long Slide Pro-Series 9mm SKU#178010 (Novak Sights)
    - 1qty: 3.5" Compact 9mm LE SKU#309304 (Standard Sights)
    - 1qty: 3.125" Shield 9mm No Thumb Safety SKU#10035 (Standard Sights)
    Package Deal.
    - No Trades
    - No Shipping
    - No Magazines are included with any of the pistols. I don't have any magazines so don't ask.
    - All pistols are LE/Non-CA Models (never were on the roster)Price: $8,750 for all 3 pistols (not a typographical error).

Why, in the name of all that's good and holy, would those be $8k?!?! I have a M&P Shield in 9mm and like it but I don't see what the big deal is. And what exactly does "law enforcement only" mean? Just that they're off-roster models? Unless there's more to them that I'm not educated on, that asking price is insane. If I were you, I'd go with Wilson Combat or Nighthawk 1911's.

Edit: now that I've read the ad a couple times,it seems to me he's just gouging since they're off-roster. Definitely skip them and go custom 1911. You'll be much happier.

That price isn't unreasonable, it's absolutely insane and completely out of touch with the market or reality lol. OP, those guns have nothing on a les Baer

Thanks for the responses guys. I guess another thing i should have mentioned is since he's in OC id have to travel from the Bay Area down to SoCal twice, so I'd really be out about 9k with gas. I would bite the bullet for some investment grade firearms like these. However maybe it would take too long for these to mature in value.

I carry a 1911 TRP Operator on duty and it's an excellent 1911 at under 1800. I carried and used the S&W M&P line for awhile and I like the Shield the most, the others I didn't like as much as my TRP. Hope that helps.

Looks like straw purchases to take advantage of the roster.

LMAO. Almost $9K?? Oh man I needed that laugh.

OP, if you search the marketplace you will find all those pistols with Mags from different sellers for less than 1/3 of that ridiculous thread.

That poster for the ad had set a very generous price for 3 outstanding pistols. Anyone of us peons should be so grateful that he want to share this amazing find for such a small price. Ok now let's get real. A sheild is 450 tops, m&p compact can be found from 600 to 800 and the other m&p 800 so say 2graND at most.

You could keep looking and should be able to find a M&P for under 1k easy.
