So I may go to a range soon and since I don't have any velocity measuring equipment does anyone have an alternative method to find out? I'm sure there's an equation done by measuring drop between X/Y to get a velocity that I just don't know. I'll likely be doing 50/100yd or 100/200yd if that helps. Thanks for your time

You can have someone stand behind the target and as soon as they see the bullet impact the target, start counting to when they hear the sound. Once you have that then enter it into the equation of....
Jk. Best way is to rent one. Most ranges i been to has them available.Originally posted by GottmitunsIt's not protecting the rights of the 1%, it's IMPOSING new laws because of the 1%.Comment

You can back calculate velocity if you know the density altitude, range to target, ballistic coefficient of the bullet and can accurately measure or dial the drop from a 100 yard zero at longer distances (i.e. 400-800+ yards).
But the it would be way easier to rent a chronograph. Heck, it might even be cheaper to buy one depending on how much ammo you end up shooting when trying to get your drop data. Its an expensive hobby, but more expensive when you try and convince yourself you don't need what you really want.Comment

OP--Is this a joke? If not you need to do a bit(big bit) more researching/reading.
If you want real results you need a chrono and you can get ones pretty cheat now days.
If you are near me I would shoot your firearms over mine. Not many(read none or just a couple) of people who own Chrono's will let you shoot over(too often into) their units. I do a lot of chrono/accuracy work for my hunting rifles.
That said what reason do you have for needing to know the chrono info? For hunting/long range target shooting or just a want to be sniper? If target shooting you still need to actually shoot the firearm at distance to be sure of your tables. What type and CARTRIDGE(s)(not caliber) do you want to test.A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.
