    Gun Shows?

We're planning on going up to Reno later this month for the "Big Reno Gun Show" and that got me to thinking, is there a place hear on CalGuns where gun show are the main topic?

Interested to find out if different shows, locations, or promoters, have different "Flavors" i.e. do some shows cater more to military collectors, or parts, do some regularly have better prices, or selection, do some have more reloading stuff, and what not.

I know they all are a bit of a hodgepodge just wondering if some are better than others for particular areas of interest?

The only "place here" might be either a thread like this one about out-of-California shows, or one that simply repeats the major suckage quotient of shows in California.

Doubt that? If you haven't been to the Reno show, I can tell it's a completely normal non-California show. For monster shows, you'll need to think about Texas and Oklahoma.

I live in a state with only about 1.3 million people; more importantly, in a state that generally treasures the Second Amendment. ANY regular gun show here at the fairgrounds is beyond belief as to selection and prices v. anything I've seen in California. Get your C&R license.

Also if you do get a C&R license be prepared that most out of state guys don't want to sell to a Ca C&R license holder. Only found 1 guy at the reno show that would deal.

Not planning on buying anything there, that I couldn't get here, just looking for a bigger better show, as well as which shows here are worth going to.

-Hanco, I see your located in the Bay Area and Southern Idaho, we have a general plan to move (probably to Northern Idaho) when I retire, SOON!

Also, What's a C&R license get me in real life?

Why? What was their reasoning?. Is California money not worth anything? I have a friend who goes to buy and sell at the Reno, he has a table, and he lives in California.

I don't know? Guess they don't need the money, After finding out that you are from CA they said they would only deal with Nevada residents. Might have met your friend though is he from Fresno?

According to many on the C&R subforum this rarely to never happens I've personally witnessed it a few times.

Yes I understand. Goes both ways. One guy on there begrudgingly admits they told him to get bent before in AZ. Most act like being a CA resident doesn't make you a pariah.

I spent $5 to get into the Murphy's gun show today in Yuma AZ.
                            Sparse Show
After I briskly went around twice waiting on another person who was getting there late, I almost called it and left.
IF I would have see some Jerky, I would have bought some to pass the time.

I checked on some 38 ammo but no bulk cans.
There were Guessing about 20% less tables BUT wider isles...

Yes Stun guns, knifes, couple coin display cases, knife sharpeners, holsters, cases, Guns from some local vendors you could buy in their shop and some ammo and magazine vendors.

I didn't buy anything but I over heard on local seller say he could sell to CA and have it transfered IF OK in CA to have.
One seller brought a box of Gun Show loopholes he made up just for the show

Yuma show generally blows. What, no jerky? Almost unheard of. Yes making aisles wider is a common trick gun show promoters use to make show look like it isn't smller than it actually is. Most Yuma stores aren't that great either.
