Reloading supplies for Ventura, CA

I haven't seen much in the field of reloading supplies here. I feel I can get my bullets and such from online retailers, but the powders and primers seem a bit pricey to ship. Anyone know of any good retailers in this area for such supplies? Thanks!

Next weekend is the Ventura show. I saw lots of reloading supplies last time. Lots of EBR parts too!

My problem is that i don't have the cash to buy that much at one time. As for the gun show, I'll be in San Diego during the next one. I MAY be in town for the one in Sept.

Miwall corp's booth at the Crossroads show is the best I can find 'locally'. Varget at $17 a lb.

You're going to be hard pressed to find any local shop that will sell 1lb cannisters of commercial powder for less than $20 before tax.

Online in bulk is the only way to go. Save up the money for a bulk purchase next time. Even better is to get a lot of guys together for a bulk buy from Midway. If you buy only powder on the one order, you can order up to 48 lbs and it will be a flat rate of $30 (that is hazmat + shipping).

Just a note, Project 2000 down in San Diego has just started doing powder.

They have IMR 4198 for $20 even, and 1000 large rifle primers for $23.

I've got a request for quote in with them for 8lbs of 4198...

Save your money and order from Powder valley. They'll combine powder and primers together under one HazMat fee.

Well try buying the 4lb containers. After shipping and hazmat you're paying the same as gunshop prices, if you cant afford that than i don't know what to tell you other than to wait for the next gun show to come to town.

I know that this is far for you, but if anyone else is looking for a place to buy, I buy from the Stockade in Westminster and Fowlers in Orange. The Aliant and Hodgden powders that is get (Power Pistol, Blue Dot, H110, Bullseye) are all under 20.00 a pound, a case of primers (1000) are under 20.00, and no shipping or hazmat fees. Online places have great prices, but when you add shipping and fees, they are the same or more expensive. The people at both places are very helpful as well. They have a good selection of bulk (500) boxes of Ranier bullets.

Miwall corp at the Crossroads show is still the best source for primers. Winchester 1000ct for $13 +/- for small or large and ~$65 for the case (5000ct).

Pistol bullets I go with Precision Bullets for the 45acp and whatever is the cheapest 124 and 147gr plated or jacketed I can get in 9mm.

Rifle it all depends on caliber. I find good deals from places like The Bullet Guy, Golden West, or GI Brass for generic stuff. But I still have to pay premium for my Sierra Match Kings. 500ct boxes of .308 175gr and 6.5mm 142gr are starting to get expensive.
