    Buffer retainer and spring

    I lost my buffer retainer and spring. do local gun shops or any large retailers in the central valley carry these? I am located in Fresno Ca.

    You can get an oh crap kit...has the springs and detents for the lower assembly.

    I would think a business that sales ar goodies would have one.

          I know it's a bit of a pain, but it's not REALLY a necessary part. My most-shot AR out of my bunch hasn't had one for at least a year and a half. I reminded myself of that last night when I took it apart to try a new drop in trigger in it. It will not affect function of the rifle to not have it there, it just makes disassembly and reassembly slightly obnoxious.

              Apex gun parts has them for $1.70. Brownells had a 3 pack of springs for $1.99. Problem is it's $6.50 for shipping with apex. I'd probably just order what you need and one of those "commonly lost parts" kits if a gun store that does have what you need is far away.
