Either one of them beats a sharp stick.

Although, I agree with John Moses Browning,
if you're going to go manually operated slide rifles action/pumps are probably better designs.

              .
The one in back (the fugly one) is a Mossberg chambered in .30-30... and judging from the shape of the loading gate on the receiver of the more-attractive rifle in the foreground it's prob chambered in something similar.

Traditional lever carbines are b!tchin'. I have a Browning B92 (Win Model 1892 by Miroku of Japan) in .44 Magnum, a Marlin 1894CS357 and a Rossi 92 in .357. I want moar.

The one in front -- which I really like -- is a Taylor's & Co. 1886 Ridge Runner, which is chambered in .45-70.

The one in back is a Mossberg 464 SPX, which no. It's available in either .30-30 or .22 LR.

I guess that the current Browning (Miroku) BLR "Black Label" lever guns (.223 Rem and .308), while having "tacticool" features, show enough wood grain to not be evil?

Tactical has its own place just not on a lever gun. Not my taste. Standard Marlin furniture looks proper.
