well, they muzzle break, as you can twist which way to adjust for kick and jump to a side.( lower picture)
the top is a flash hider, usually alluminum made.

If you are referring to the two notches on the lower muzzle device, they are simply recesses made to fit the cleaning rod to aid in the removal of said device. It is not designed for "dial a muzzle blast".

Both of the ones shown are flash suppressors.

the upper is made of light to moderate weight aluminum-it's a flash hider.
the lower is made of heavy milled steel-it's muzzle break you dope!

The reason I ask is, I would love to get one and put it on my AK but can't if it is a flash hinder.

                The discription from Kvar is:

Description: KR-006B FLASH HIDER ~ KRINKOV Flash Hider (7.62x39) with 24mmx1.5 Threads (The first pic)

Description: FLASH HIDER ~ (Original Bulgarian) KRINKOV 4-Piece Flash Suppresser (7.62x39) with 24mmx1.5 Threads. NEW (Second pic)

I know that vendors have been wrong in the past and just want to be sure before ordering.

What is a muzzle break?. Some geniuses here...

If you are stating that the second device is a brake, what are you basing that on?

I know that the purpose of that device is to aid in cycling the action on a short barreled Krinkov (due to the chamber that it has). But, can you explain to me what you believe the purpose of the cone on the end of the device is? Cones function to reduce flash. Look at the original M1 Carbine cone muzzle device.

The cone is a flash hider. How would it act as a muzzle brake?

I see that this idiot is now banned, so I will reply to this post purely for the sport of it.

Your lack of grammatical skill lends itself handily to discrediting any legitimacy you may be attempting to convey in your tech-less responses. I suspect that english is your second language as well.I think it is cute that you assert that the conical flash suppressor is in fact an adjustable muzzle brake. It's design and function is to act as a gas expansion chamber to boost the short gas tube design and enhance cycling reliability, particularly on full-auto firing.

From an engineering standpoint, your assertion that the two notches machined for use in removal are somehow intended to direct gas in a particular direction to counteract muzzle blast is assinine. If you had paid attention to physics class, it would be painfully obvious that if gas were directed out of those two notches that they would be directed in equal and opposite directions canceling each other out.

Of course, if somehow what you are saying was magically true, you could have presented some facts and even schematics reinforcing your claim as to the function of the device in question but instead you attempt do distinguish, in your crap-a55 engrish, that the two devices functions are determined by the materials of which they are constructed.

I am truly dismayed that you have been banned, as I would welcome your rebuttal and a chance to further mete out the pwnage, but I digress..
