Quick ! You need another GUN>>>

So the first of the year is coming and we must all run to the nearest gun store and get something that is going bye bye.

Really? Lets put this in perspective. Look up and down your street. There is roughly 27 million cars and trucks registered in the State of California. Do you think there is any chance you couldn't own one in the future or that the tow guy is going to have a place to put all these vehicles should the law change and we must all ride bikes? I think not. I think those cars would rot on every street corner for the next 50 years or more.

Now Guns. 35 million or so in California. Almost everyone but babies and kids under 4 are packing heat. And you've got to run down to the store and get you another one? There is more guns in this state than vehicles. There is plenty to go around for anyone who wants one. If the big one comes, trust me, guns will be lying on every street corner with people passing them up like gum stuck to the sidewalk.

This is more about several people lining their pockets with your cash than taking away your guns. But you don't see that do you?

There are a couple factual errors here: there may or may not be 35,000,000 guns IN California ( how would you know how many unregistered guns are here?) but only 0.2 % of people are legally allowed to carry concealed, the definition of "packing heat". So no, most people are not packing heat.

According to the link below that 0. 2 includes judges, and likely includes retired LEO who conveniently got grandfathered in while other law-abiding people who shoot more often and more accurately than many (certainly not all) of those guys cannot get a permit in "may issue" counties, and will not get one after the Peruta appeal ( thanks to Kamala Harris, our next socialist aka Democratic senator)

However, if you already have a bunch of guns you like and do not want more or think you will ever need more, getting more will not increase your odds of getting a permit.

As for finding guns lying around on every corner when "the big one" comes, that is about as likely as finding T-bone steaks lying around, especially if they come with ammo. If you do not believe me, go read some apocalypse books and survival blogs to get a sense of what would be of value.

There are more than 16,000 Californians whose requests to carry a concealed gun in public are in limbo, pending a final decision in a landmark lawsuit, Peruta v. San Diego County.
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." (Thomas Jefferson)
