Really? The reason most front yard fences are short is because of setback codes if not because it usually hurts curb appeal of your own property. You want to put a taller fence there you can, as long as you follow the building code, which means the tall fence may need to be moved farther back from your property line. If someone jumps into your front yard and you go confront him, end up shooting him and it is not ruled justifiable you will be spending many years in a place where you wish the fences weren't so tall.

Yeah this is stupid. Why on gods green earth would you want to take someone's life's because they come onto your yard? Do you realize that the gun you have your hand on will end someone's life, ruin a families life, and more then likely cost you a massive amount of money in legal bills? What about your life and family? In my opinion, you shouldn't own a gun if you're asking a question like this.Comment

Sure you can consider them an intruder.
Call the police, hunker down inside until they show up.
If your life is not in danger, just be on guard, not on the attack.

NOOO
That person could be a service person at the wrong address, lost person looking for directions, church lady...who knows. Just put some fresh dog poop inside the entrance daily. I would say .... What are you doing in my yard?
Now I am in PA and not CA FWIW ...and one fence hoping person can be nothing like the next ten fence hoppers ...and one hopper may require different reactions than the next.... I would like to point out , there is normally a long standing 3 prong test regarding shooting a fellow """"not saying you are going to , but feel the need to point out for info sakes"""....involving the terms ..... Ability, Opportunity, and Jeopardy that
I would suggest you look into at the VERY least.
Now some may conclude a Castle Doctrine aka Stand Your Ground rule murkies the water a bit ..... but not enough to ignores those 3 earlier terms.
And then you have the term "Preclusion" , which translates into ..... what else could you have done?
Now this is just in relation to poppin a cap in a fellow.
You of course simply mention placing your hand over your gun that's in it's holster "not the same I understand" but at the same time seem to call it full defense mode.....................
Which is where I get to use my line of .... I don't think that means what you think it means................
I wouldn't hang you for placing your hand on your firearm ..... but it's that whole "full defense mode" comment , that gives me pause....
Just remember , it's a firearm .... not a big pecker we pull out to impress folks with.
Again , I KNOW some of what I mentioned doesn't DIRECTLY apply to your actions ..... but felt , it may come in handy at a later dateLast edited by WMG; 10-14-2016, 9:10 PM.If you start thinking like a Free Man

Seriously. People seem all trigger happy looking to find any possible way to blow someone away if they step foot on their property.
Conceal and go Tell them to get the F*%# off your property and if they try to attack you then deal with it."If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so." - Thomas JeffersonComment

If someone you consider an intruder comes into your fenced yard, then feel comfort and place your hand on your weapon on your property. No harm no foul.
Beware brandishing and or firing only!!!Comment

thanks for the feedback.
there is a mail box chute at the fence.
when i said putting my hands on the hostler, it means i don't know the intentions of this intruder. it does not mean i'm ready to kill this guy. now these days you just don't know what kinda of people you are dealing with. did you hear the malibu incident where a trespasser jumped the fence and he actually stabbed an arm security guard before security guard fired at him. thats what I'm saying be ready for the worst cause i don't know what this intruder is capable of.
"service person at the wrong address, lost person looking for directions, church lady" - don't you think with all the private property no trespassing signage a church lady would still hop over the fence try to covert me? lol
i think anyone reasonably who see all those warnings WOULD NOT jump over the fence to someone else private property, its the ones who actually does that makes me nervous and unknown their intentions.
yes calling pd is of course but they do take few minutes to arrive and what happens if this person really has bad intentions, do i let him take offense first?
when i said i have my hand on the holster meaning i hope when i ask him what is he is doing jumping fence into my property he realize i have a weapon for defense.
This is for not for kids ball goes onto my property and hop over to get it, and i would say most solicitors or church ladies or any reasonable person who see the fence is locked, the gate is locked buy yet still hops over.
this is a crazy world people and lots of unknown intentions or etc.
no i'm not trigger happy, but if its either my life or his life on the line, i would rather seek self preservationComment
