    COE application questions

Hi, earlier this week I got my FFL03 (finally after 7-week wait). I'm now doing the application for COE. Some questions I have:

    1. I actually did live scan for my CCW application last week, does that mean I don't need to do live scan one more time for COE application?

    2. If no to question 1, do I do the live scan before I submit COE application or after?

    3. where do I obtain live scan form?

    Thank you.

    You have to livescan again.

You must livescan BEFORE you submit the COE app, because you must list the livescan transaction number (ATI) on the COE app.

The livescan form is in the COE app, page 3 https://oag.ca.gov/sites/all/files/a...pdf/coeapp.pdf

Can you not put the info from the livescan last week on the application?

Hi all. This seemed like an appropriate thread for my question.

On the current COE form here: https://oag.ca.gov/sites/all/files/a...rms/coeapp.pdf

...There is a section for "Business Type (check appropriate box(es))", and "*California Firearms Dealership (CFD) No: " and "*Name of Dealership:"

I'm a private citizen and want my COE and FFL03 for personal collecting not selling, etc.

All the form says is "Check the appropriate business type box(es). If your business type is not listed, check the "Other" box and indicate the type of business on the line below. If you are applying for a COE as an employee of a California Firearms Dealer (CFD), you must provide the name of the dealership and the dealership's CFD number. You must date and sign the certification."

Couldn't really find help via google on the CA OAG FAQ page. Thanks!

Check the box marked "Collector", leave the CFD and name of dealership blank (you're not a business, so...), sign it and date it.
