Just remember it is stain"less" not stain proof. Keep a light coat of oil on it and you should be fine.

I live about 100 feet from the ocean and don't have a big problem with indoor humidity and rust (outdoor is another story). While a humidity-controlled safe would be ideal, an interior closet (i.e., not adjacent to an exterior wall) would be OK if you keep a light coat of oil on the firearm. I would also consider some sort of dehumidifier in the closet, even if it is a couple EVA-dry units that can be periodically recharged. For security reasons I would encourage you to get a safe with a golden rod so your firearm is safe from rust and dirtbags.

With minimal care that Mini will be just fine.

You will be fine. I lived near the beach and had no trouble with my wood/blued or stainless firearm in a closet for a number of years while going to college.

Once in awhile you might want to wipe them down with a oiled rag

I have a stainless Mini from 1987 and lived in the southeast for years with very high humidity without any issues. I keep the moving parts greased but do nothing to the outside of the gun. I replaced the original wood stock with a Hogue years ago. Stainless Minis are very popular with Alaskan Eskimos and boat owners due to the gun being impervious to the elements. They are also very popular as a truck gun for farmers and ranchers for the same reason. When I bought another rifle in 2010 for my daughter, I went with the stainless Mini because of the durability and reliability of the first one. It's the most maintenance free gun I own.

I'm less than 100' from the ocean. I just throw a few descant packs from shoe boxes and such in the safe. I keep my guns clean and run a silicon rag on them every so often. I've never had a rust problem. I'm more concerned about my Guitars.
