    Rimfire AR, first range session.

    My second 80% build was a .22lr.
    Tactical Machine lower.
    Panther Arms DPMS lower kit.
Panther Arms DPMS complete .22lr upper with Black Dog 10-round mag.
    UTG 6-position stock.
    A-2 carry handle/rear sight.
    Four Black Dog mags.

This was the first time I followed the manufacturers barrel break-in instructions. Very tedious (that's why I did it at the indoor range).
One round, clean chamber/barrel, for 10 rounds.
Ten rounds, clean chamber/barrel, for the next 100 rounds.
RO asked if I was having issues because I kept field stripping the rifle.

Shot 200 rounds total. The smoke Black Dog magazine that came with the upper will only hold 9 rounds. One of the other mags has feeding issues. The other 3 worked flawlessly. Other occasional feeding issues I consider ammo related (Winchester M*22, 40gn, black copper plated round nose). Being a .22lr, I'm not surprised with an occasional hiccup.

This was a break-in session at an indoor range with 15 yard max range. Started at 7 yards for first 100 rounds, then 15 yards for the next 100.
    Here's all 200 rounds

    I'm satisfied.

Nice shootin' and nice rifle. I love the weird looks I get when I take mine to the indoor range since people think it's an AR.

Wow, manufacturers still recommend that crazy break in schedule?
It was just an old plywood boat, with a '75 Johnson, with electric choke. A young boy, two hands on the wheel, I can't replace the way it made me feel.

This is the first time I did the manufacturers recommended break in.
        I figured "why not?".
The groups did seem to shrink, but that could have been me and the rifle bonding.

I didn't even bother to look at the break-in recommendations for my 15-22 I just shot the hell out of it.

Same. It was like $300. By the time I wear it out as a plinker I'll just buy another upper. It mainly just gets used to introduce new shooters to guns.

Yep and it's great for that.

I have the same upper, and enjoy it a lot. I think the insert about break in is a generic item they ship with all the uppers, I chose to ignore it with a .22LR.

I thought one of my Black Dog mags only held 9 rounds, but with care I manage to insert ten in the four I own.

Are these also chambered for Stingers?
I've searched a bit but haven't found an answer.

Just curious, maybe it's my eyes. It looks like your lower receiver was tattooed with a letter and number punch set just randomly. Or it that oil or a reflection or something?

Letter / number stamps for ATF markings.
                      Camera distorts them.

                        Well than that explains it.

I have a couple stripped lowers in the safe and was thinking of building a dedicated .22 as well.

I like the old school M4 look. Except for the gov profile barrel.

I do think I'm going to change the stock to an A2 stock for that "retro" look.
