    RAW lowers and .50bmg?

So browsing old calguns threads, it was mentioned that if you already have a registered AW lower that you could put a .50bmg upper on to it without having to re-register. So, if the AW registration opens again for bullet button rifles, and there is no distinction of AW's... does that mean we could use a .50 BMG upper on a newly registered lower? Can somebody clear this up before I run off to get an upper?
If you need help with any stragglers, call a friend, because it's likely that they have a gun. America in particular have done exceptionally well taking care of the problem, as there are 1.12 guns for every 1 American citizen. So throw a rock, you'll probably hit a gun, pick up that gun, then shoot a zombie.

No, AW registration has nothing to do with the 50 BMG ban.

No. Bwiese addresses that exact question in this thread. It could be considered manufacturing since you didn't own the AW registered lower prior to the .50 BMG ban.

You could always build a spade grip .50, since it would not be a rifle by definition. Franklin Armory sells one. Spade grip trigger system

                Reloading cost .338LM
                2.50 - New Lapua brass
                .70 - 300gr SMK
.03 - Lg Rifle Magnum Primer
                .26 - powder
                -------
                3.43 - homemade .338 match ammo

                5.43 - Black Hills .338 match ammo

                Reloading cost .50DTC

2.00 - new WCC primed brass
                .75 - commercial 50BMG powder
                2.00 - 750 - 800gr match bullet
                --------
                4.75 - homemade 50DTC/BMG
                6.10 - commercial 50BMG/DTC (5.00 in surplus brass)

Equipment needed to reload either would run anywhere from 500.00 to 1000.00 depending on brand of press and die brand.

Making DTC is really no more effort than the time needed to trim the BMG brass down an additional .10" ...the first time only. Otherwise, load data and ballistics are virtually identical.
DTC is also a CIP standard in Europe, just not a SAAMI standard in the US. But, then again, neither is the 50BMG.
