Anyone else notice arfcom going a bit...lefty?

So after an absence of a few years I started looking at Arfcom again.
Must say it seems to me that it's gone a bit more to the left. Lots of defeatist postings and straight up pro socialist members now.
Not to mention an attitude toward Muslims that seems a bit protectionist.
Am I seeing things that aren't there?

Eh their site they can do as they wish, just don't understand why the faith of social justice has been allowed there.

I've used the site for a long time, but only the rifle, handgun, reloading type sections. Never really looked or participated in the OT type sections. So have not noticed it, maybe I'll go look around and see for myself.

There is a real shift to the left all though out this country, I am not doubting you.

Some of the organizations long thought to be center right are struggling to deal with this shift. Even the Mason's are fracturing over allowing gay members. Some states like CA and NY have no problem with it, while more conservative Grand Lodges say no.

For better or worse, this shift is everywhere. We on the right, especially far right are becoming more and more the minority everyday. Look at Calguns there are many more left leaning members today then there was even just five years ago.

General Discussion has definitely taken a turn to the left. I should say, I notice a lot more liberals, basically trolls, popping off in the threads. Most strangely, the moderators seem to be going out of their way to protect them. Also, islam is the officially protected religion on arfcom now. It's disheartening.

They just dont want their board associated with dumb stuff like 911 truthers or people calling for persecution of other religions. It's not really that crazy of a position to take.

Hell, when I joined, they asked me about the "SS" in my username. I used to be a Camaro guy and used it on car message boards all the time. When I got into guns, I kept the same username. A mod on ar15.com told me that he'd let me use the name, but didnt want to see anything that dealt with the actual SS lol.. That was like 11 years ago.

So they have been trying to keep their board for becoming a breeding ground for dumb stuff for a long time now. It doesnt mean they're "lefty" .. It just means they want to stay focused.

The left essentially have run the country since the 30s. Only in the last 20 or so years have conservatives really been a factor...

yes, anybody that was around at the time should know about what really happened, but some people are trying to change the story to make it look like the passengers fought the hi jackers to make it go down instead of what really happened, the military had to do it.

Yeah but the left of the 1930's to the 1960's was pretty darn conservative. They had their radicals but they did not run the party as they do today. The radicals are the norm in the left today, conservatives today(most)are more like the left in those times. Not a fair representation.

My guess is that they want to done down the conversation to give the antis less ammo. ("Hey, look, all gun owners are racists.") In addition, hard core rhetoric might turn off a lot of people who own guns or would like to own guns but whose politics are more center-right than far right.

Well, not really. Islam, and Muslims in general, is/are not a race. Many Pacific Island nations are majority Muslim. Islam covers many races. It is a religion, but one now when preached in Pakistan, for example, is filled with hate for western culture. CNN, whom most would argue position themselves left-of-center, have broadcast a sober documentary, "Why They Hate Us".



That said, I don't trust Islam. Churchill called it "the most retrograde force in history". The Koran, Sharia Law, etc, want nothing to do with the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights. They do not wish to assimilate as many other religious and foreign national cultures have in the past; those that have contributed to the glory of the United States.

These are interesting times indeed.
