    Good Rangebag?

Dad wanted something to carry the gear in, we're probably going to go buy one tomorrow, was wondering what brand you would recommend. (Probably at Reed's main store or thier range if they have em).

Might as well make use of this post, whats a good holster/magazine carrier for the M9? Thinking about the M12 Holster, M1025/M1030 magazine holder, and the military web pistol belt for the sake of having correct military gear for that authentic look/feel.

      Dont Tread on Me

I have an Eagle Industries bag that I bought from Reed's Indoor range (they have a lot in stock). The are expensive (~$120) but worth it. I had an Uncle Mikes and a Walmart tool bag before. Zippers would break etc. The Eagle bag is really solid. I've used extensively for two years. Overloaded it, got it wet and muddy at 3 gun matches etc. and it just keeps working.

I find the layout good. You get two padded internal compartments that zip up for pistols. There are three dedicated magazine pockets and a bunch of adjustable spaces for ammo, ear and eye protection, etc. The outside of the bag has a large compartment for targets.

Just to be clear, provided that we're heading out to the range, would it be enough to keep the pistol inside the range bag or would that count as concealed? (Minivan doesn't have a trunk for obvious reasons)

The bag would have to be locked, otherwise its no different than carrying it in the glovebox.
          Please, calm down.

i use the small luggage locks to lcok the zipper eyelets. pistols have to be in a locked "container" a range bag qualifies as a container.

Further, the handguns would have to be in a compartment separate of any ammunition for them.

I've been using the shooting bag sold at Wal Mart for $20. It's really nice, can fit almost two gun cases plus ammo. Just recently I stopped using this bag and went back to my old backpack.

The reason for this is to not display that I'm going shooting to my neighbors. All they see is be loading my backpack into my trunk and I'm gone, could be going to the range or school.

I second the recommendation for Eagle. Also purchased at Reed's.

I got the Wolf bag from Mel Cottons for 35 or so. Holds two pistols, 5 mags each, plus a ton of ammo. The two pistols can be locked in their own compartments separate from the ammo and come with some pouches to pad the gun.

I realize you probably don't wanna order online, but I love the 'TZ' cases from CDNN Investments. This one below would be good for pistols and accessories.

Alternatively, there's this one which is only for a single pistol:

I personally use the 53" 33lb double sided case - lovingly referred to as "the coffin" by my range group.

I use a "gatemouth" type tool bag. They come in various sizes and hold open well. Usually less than $25. Very sturdy and big enough to hold my sand bags, ammo, tools and targets etc.

Something like this, only you can find them much cheaper at K-mart or WW.

edit: I also like that it's not shooting specific. I live in an apartment complex and I like to keep a low profile - theives.

Oh, good. I wasn't the only one thinking "just buy a duffel bag."
