Need some good tactical desert pants - recommendations?

I have a pair of my favorite Blackhawk Lightweight Tactical Pants that have seen better days. The rip stop fabric is great for everything except burning embers around the campfire lol. I was going online to buy another but pair unfortunately look like they are discontinued. Why did Blackhawk discontinue these? Arg. Any suggestions on new/improved tac pants?

I wear pants when I tacticalate, therefore all of my pants are potentially tactical.

That being said, my preference in outdoor pants runs towards Marmot softshells in the colder months and Kuhl convertible/zip-off pants in the summer.

What sort of tactical features do you tactical pants need to have?

My preference is for cargo pants that don't scream tactical. Unfortunately, very few pants actually fit me so I take what I can get.

5.11 Stryke pants are great. Way better fitting than their previous versions. They also have a 1-2 inch expansion panel in each side of the waste band which I love. Make it easy to accommodate an IWB holster without having to buy two separate sizes. Made from a stretchy fabric and they hold up well.

Heard lots of good things about these guys too but haven't tried them yet...

Wrangler Workwear is also usually available at Walmart for just a basic pair of cargo pants. Very affordable.

I actually have been very happy with the LAPG pants I picked up earlier this year. Solid price and the pants are holding up well.

I use Duluth fire hose pants, not sure how tactical these may be for you.

            I like the Tru-Spec 24/7 Lightweight pants.

My favorite pairs of pants are hands down my Arc'teryx LEAF Combat Gen 2's. They dont scream tactical and they are oh-so-comfy. Tweave Durastretch is an amazing material; And they hold up to gravel and abrasion very well. Also look at Triple Aught Design. If you want tactical pants for hiking or classes, Crye pants are always a good pick but i wouldnt wear them around town...

I wear Icebreaker wool pants. Good for a wide range of temps. They have a cargo pocket. And they handle embers from campfires much better than synthetics. They are as tactical as I am.

                  5.11 Taclite Pro Pants

Sub $50.00, lightweight and tough as nails.

Best pants ever. They may seem thick but they actually jeep you pretty cool. Super durable and way better than any "tactical" pants out there. They aren't cheap but good stuff generally isnt.

One of the best to be sure. I prefer the Fire Hose Flex pants. Little more give in the crotch and a softer fabric in general. Pockets are plentiful and deep. Mine show VERY little wear after 5 years.

Like PyroFox says, your going to pay a bit more for these. Completely worth it depending on your needs.

Wearing 5.11 pants feels like you're wearing clothes made out of tarps. Super uncomfortable. And also don't drop your cigarette on your 5.11 pants.

Just get hunting gear. Wrong time of year for good prices, but it will still be cheaper than mall cop clothing.

You can try Propper, lasts forever and reasonably priced.

Or a bit expensive are Vertex pants.

I have both. I like Propper better due to flaps on the cargo pockets, though because they don't have flaps Vertex looks a bit more mainstream.
