I love the snakes and use them on all my guns. Haven't used a rod in years. Snakes with a little CLP is great, if you get build up you can also use a foaming bore cleaner, let it sit for a while, and than snake it out. If you wash them in a machine, put them in socks and wash them by themselves.

They do a great job keeping crud from accumulating, but are not a replacement for a good quality cleaning rod and tight fitting jag. I use them at the range before and after shooting in all my handguns, rifles and shotguns. I use them dry and some are still gong strong after 3 to 4 years.sigpic

I think Bore Snake is GREAT!!! Of course i usually use my Otis cleaning kit first, then bore snake it...unless i just wanna do a quick cleaning...then i bore snake it...that's only if the gun's not too dirty.Comment
