Secret agent-style weapon Rooms

I did some work in a house about 15 years ago. It was basically an old farm house that was undergoing extensive remodeling and updates by the new owners. I was looking for an unobtrusive pathway to pull some network and video cabling from the first floor to the second.
There was a wide stairway from the main downstairs room to the upstairs hall. I asked the homeowner if he knew of any access to get under it, as it was perfectly situated for the cable run. He made a face and hesitated for a few seconds. He than said, 'Yeah, but that's where I keep my guns'.
After being sworn to secrecy, I was shown the shelving unit in the back of the kitchen pantry that rolled aside, and the removable wall panel behind it that gave access to the under-stair space. I pulled my cable and closed it back up.
It wasn't 'secret agent' worthy, and not very physically secure. It was hidden well enough that average thieves could have torn the rest of the house apart and never found it, though.Just taking up space in (what is no longer) the second-worst small town in California.Comment
