    Ppt vs dros???

I keep hearing people say "I have not drosed a gun since 2014 I have only private party transferred so the doj doesn't know I have the guns" can anyone tell me if this is flawed thinking... why would they have a ppt process if it wasn't recorded?

California does not have a legal 'no paper' transfer process.

Substantially all transfers were required to use a CA FFL in 1991. There was an exception for C&R long guns, but that went away effective Jan 1, 2014.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Both new sales and private party transfers started registering the make, model, and serial number of long guns after 2014.

Handguns have been registering the same in both new sales and private party transfers for quite some time now (1994???).
