I keep hearing people say "I have not drosed a gun since 2014 I have only private party transferred so the doj doesn't know I have the guns" can anyone tell me if this is flawed thinking... why would they have a ppt process if it wasn't recorded?

California does not have a legal 'no paper' transfer process.
Substantially all transfers were required to use a CA FFL in 1991. There was an exception for C&R long guns, but that went away effective Jan 1, 2014.ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page
Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!Comment

For long guns yes. Unless I'm wrong. (Not afraid to admit when i am) just saying.
But after 2014 they starting recording the make caliber and model with purchaseOriginally posted by Jimi JahI punch paper only because it is illegal to punch people.Originally posted by elpaisa1I think flatulence is a more serious crime. I think it should be a misdemeanor with a 1000 dollar fine or 6 months of jail. It should be a felony if done near an open flame.

Both new sales and private party transfers started registering the make, model, and serial number of long guns after 2014.
Handguns have been registering the same in both new sales and private party transfers for quite some time now (1994???).Comment
