    2 MOA VS 4MOA for Ar's

Whats a better all around MOA for redots being used with Ar15's? Being that most are not meant to shoot beyond 250 would a 4 MOA be better for all around and close up?

2MOA is more flexible and gives more options for 100+ yards. I find the 2MOA dot is just as visible but less obtrusive when aiming at small targets. Maybe some people have trouble seeing the 2MOA but the 4MOA is easier to see? Otherwise, there's no advantage for the 4MOA.

If you eyes are good and with a quality built upper why not shoot irons at 1moa?

The smaller dot is better with a magnifier!

Dots are great to 100 yards, Beyond that, a decent scope takes over.

Unless you want a lot of misses...

I am still a big proponent of low power fixed magnification scopes. I have a 2.5x primary arms prism scope on my 16" AR. It works great for fast up close and I can hit way more reliably past 200 than with a dot or irons. 4x on the 18" is a little too much for fast up close. I'm sure I could mitigate that a little if I practiced with it more.
Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

Well I can hit 200 yards all day with a dot. So no a dot doesn't mean misses past 100 . Is it more difficult shooting distances.... Yes. Can a scope help.... Yes.

I have been liking 2 MOA.

Seems small enough be a little more precise but big enough to see in a hurry.

Those who say a red dot is useless past 100 yards... 2moa at 500 yards gives you a dot the size of a paper plate. For many people that's plenty accurate.

Anyways, my choice would be 2moa, with the caveat to make sure it's bright enough that you can see it easily. If it's hard to see, you may want 4moa, or a different model 2moa.
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

For me 4moa works better because it's easier for me to pick up that bigger dot. Sometimes my eyes lose track of 1 MOA dots. For 2 MOA does I prefer it comes with a outer ring like Eotech or holosuns so I have more reference points.

                        I prefer 2MOA. I haven't tried 1MOA.

2 MOA dot is best. Turn the brightness down at range for an even finer aiming point.

I agree with this but can't do 1 Moa at my age but can still hit steel at
                            400. I love irons.

So long as my eyes work, I'll never use anything but what the Lord gave me. A Comp M4 or Micro with the 2 MOA is probably in order for my wife's Dissipator for ease of use though.. I'll never ask her to take more than a 200 yard shot since Burro Canyon is the furthest I can drag her from civilization. Every time I take her she remarks how the targets/produce I bring keep getting smaller...
