    adjusting sights counter intuitive...

lol. Ive done this before a few times, but never often enough to remember.

wasted 30 rounds moving the sight the wrong way before I figured it out, again.

when I realized what I was doing wrong, nailed it in 10 rounds. got a .75 inch group off a pistol rest at 15 yards.

now I gotta figure out if Im hitting low because the sights are off, or I am out of practice, or adjust to the new gun, or just need to learn a new sight pic.

Done that too many times to count. Left the range one time thinking I installed the peep sights on an old Mossberg rifle incorrectly. In my mind its the rifle (or Pistol) out of whack not the sights.

Even after reading the article and seeing the pic, two commenters still insist on moving their sight the wrong way. Go figure.

Move the rear sight in the direction you want the shots to hit. That is pretty straight forward. If you can't remember which way to turn the knob (some guns are different), turn the sight a number of clicks until you see what direction it's moving, then turn it back the same number of clicks.

No clicks here. I was adjusting fixed sights with a polymer punch and a brass hammer. Made for an interesting sight at the range

FORS front opposite - rear same.
Regarding direction to move the sight. Depending on which is movable.

            You'll never forget again.

That is not easy to do. Especially if you are not practiced at it.

Can't say I'm practiced, but Ive done it a few times. Easy enough if you are good with your hands.

The sights were filed to fit halfway into the dove tail as recommended by Mr. Dawson himself. It takes a healthy tap but not too much.

Bought a set of Magpul BUIS off internet for flat top AR. Screwed around with that POS front sight all morning & couldn’t hit **** with it even at 50 yards! Couldn’t get post low enough- even bottomed out. Turns out they were fakes.

                        Beat me to it.

Just remember the number 4, then FORS, and you'll always remember what to do after that.
