Cannon makes good on its warranty

I bought a used Cannon AE (American Eagle) 22 a number of years ago. It has not given me any troubles until just the other day when I noticed that it would not actually lock! The SG combo lock would emit beeps but the lock did not actuate. Replacing the battery did not resolve the issue.

Not being the original purchaser, I figured I was SOL but I called Cannon to report the issue. I replicated it while I was on the phone, but after leaving the lock alone for a minute or so (while I looked at the serial number), it started working again. Oh boy, intermittent problems.....so NOT my favorite.

To my surprise the Customer Support guy said he was ordering me replacement parts because the issue would likely not improve. No cost to me, no fuss, no muss. Call took less than 10 minutes.

    Kudos to Cannon!
