Processing Rifle brass is allot of work

It can be very rewarding, but it is time consuming.

For pistol I prefer the 650, it is virtually impossible to double charge and I like the double assurance of the powder check alarm.

How much are you are going to shoot will determine how much you should invest to start with

A single stage is a very slow process, you will tire of it quickly

If your going to do it do it right, I used a single stage press for 20 years, I finally picked up a DILLON 650 and it was the best decision I have made.
Granted it cost me $$$ but it was worth it.
I reload .308, .223, .45acp, and 9mm I've got about $2200. invested.

If you buy a Dillon press and do not like it someone around here will buy it off you in hurry with minimal loss of your initial investment.
But once you get sucked into the blue world you will tempted to buy their dies, caliber conversion kits, extra powder measures etc.

I suggest that you start on a single stage press, with a handgun cartridge and learn all the individual reloading steps prior to moving up to a progressive.
Also is you are going to try to make precision rifle ammo at some time you really need a good single stage press with a lever travel stop built into the press arm. Some single stage presses can cam over and cause variable max travel when seating bullets. If you have one of these presses with slop in it then a dead length seater die from LEE lets the shell holder hit the die body to have a consistent travel stop.

So buy a single stage first, Dillon makes one. But RCBS, Redding, Hornady, LEE, Lyman, Etc. all have Quality single stage O presses. Every serious reloader needs an O style single stage press. You can do every step of reloading with a single stage press and they are very affordable compared to progressive presses.

But many shooting clubs have reloading classes where you use their presses, powder measures, calipers, etc to learn the process and what you like. Or try the reloading section, ask around and maybe a local calgunner will let you try their equipment and you can learn from them. That will save you tons of time and wasted money on scales, calipers, die sets etc. I piece my die sets from several manufacturers for each caliber because each manufacturer has slightly different dies.

Right now, you should think about stocking components: Brass, primers, powders, projectiles, etc.
You will always find the tools.

Unlikely that you'll ever need a background check to buy the tools, yep.

Here is a list of manufactures and or companies that you should know about if you plan on reloading and buying reloading supplies. My opinion on some items that require a Hazmat Fee and shipping VS buying local and paying sales tax need to be researched. My own personal choice is to buy BULK Primers and Powder and cry once with the Hazmat fee. Buying in BULK sometimes gets you free shipping. Always ask. I remember I ran low on Powder during the last Frenzy and ended up going to the Costa Mesa Gun show. Paid parking, entry fee, stood in a long line and that powder cost a LOT OF MONEY..

Plus they bone you for Sales Tax even if you're paying cash..
I avoid gun shows these days.......

Get you that Rockchucker supreme kit..It has everything to get you going. I recommend starting with a single stage to learn the basics. If you move up later,you will always still use the single on occasion. RCBS make good stuff and they have some of the best customer support out there.
