Receiving ammo from Cabelas in LA

I know this question has been asked to death, but after hours of research I'm still not getting a clear answer... even from Cabelas.

I've read that there is laws against ammo shipping to LA as well as people saying it's just bs that has been spread around as well as lawsuits being filled against out of state retailers.

I logged in to their live support chat and asked the rep if they ship to the city of la and they said they saw no restrictions on their end. The individual said to check out the product page and see if there was any restriction listed and again nothing about the city of LA.

Does anyone have any first hand experience receiving ammo from Cabelas in LA?

I'm looking through my options to buy ammo, and if this doesn't work out I'm going to see if I can get a UPS mailbox address outside of the city and ship the ammo there.

Any help would be appreciate.

I have received ammo from Cabela's in LA City without a problem.

Same here, no problems with Cabela's. Midway won't ship to an LA zip code, but they freely admit that it's just CYA.

I buy from both Cabelas and Midway and never have had any problem. In fact the UPS guy has been to my house so often we are on a first name basis.

I'm surprised to hear you can get Midway to ship ammo to you at a Los Angeles proper zip code. I've been refused multiple times. I even asked to speak with their legal department, which I did, and was told that they are aware it isn't "technically" (their words) illegal to ship to Los Angeles, they err on the side of caution and won't do it. Maybe it's time for me to try them again.
