Confused new member

Can somebody help a brother out,,, I'm thinking of selling a SIG P229, 40 CAL. DA/SA , but it has a extra barrel , has distinct cuts in it, fluted ?,,was told by a Turners sales person can't sell it in CAL. But a 2nd shop said it was ok ??,don't know which one is right and yes I still can't figure out how to post pics,,NEWBIE....UPDATE It's a S&W extended ported barrel ,,legal in all 50 states. Thanks for the help.

Can you explain more like what firearm it is and such? There a sticky in the new members area that says how to upload pictures.

Extra barrel or fluted barrel should not make much of a difference, threaded barrel could be a problem.

i believe the only type of barrel you cant have (installed in the weapon) is one with suppressor threads. if it has a cap pinned (welded) to the barrel and the barrel is no longer able to use a suppressor, i believe it can be used.

fluted and ported barrels are legal.

Are your mags 10 rounds or less?

So far the one FFL that says no is wrong.

You can help yourself by not giving us the least amount of info possible. You say you were denied because of a barrel. Maybe you should elude to that or why the FFL said you couldn't sell it in Cali?

Treated barrel /for attaching suppressor/ is not legal. Put a regular barrel and you will be OK.
No magazines accepting more than 10 rounds. Include 1 10 round magazine with the gun and you will be OK.

The second FFL probably is able to buy AWs...or realized he could swap the threaded barrel for the non-threaded barrel and PPT it.

How does an FFL buy a firearm and resell from their inventory as a Private Party, not a deal as an FFL?

Threaded pistol barrels are allowed if not installed on a handgun...
