I didn't know that there is a black market for bullet button builds and featureless builds in this state.

1600 rounds? Does this mean that they drop each gun 1600 times or a 6 shot revolver 266 times? Where does all the ammo go?

Article is wrong. It's THREE copies of the handgun and it's 600 rounds for each copy - PC 12127.

Oh... I've been calling mine a black "rifle"... Because it's, you know, black.. I'll have to update my firearm vocabulary accordingly..

Here is most of the stuff I sent them, minus some information which revealed my true identity as a suburban superhero:

Hi, please post a correction for the following article. Looks like your source John Corbett gave you a lot of inaccurate and misleading information. I thought you had "fact checkers" or needed more than one source to print an article. I have highlighted obvious errors and will explain why they require correction:

                          1. No shotguns or pistols have ever been considered to be assault weapons. Very few rifles are, and they are already illegal in California. True assault weapons are defined as being capable of fully automatic (machine gun) and semi-automatic fire. Fully automatic weapons are already illegal in the entire country and have been so since the 1930's. There are also certain semi-automatic-only weapons which were defined as assault rifles in the original Assault Weapons Ban of 1994. Defining features of these rifles are things like flash suppressors, bayonets, high-capacity magazines, and folding stocks. In California these rifles are already banned. If you own one and did not register it with the Department of Justice in 1994, it is a felony.

                          2. A thumb print is not required for a background check. You do have to provide certain information to buy a firearm including your valid California I.D. and proof of residency. There is no fingerprint search.

                          3. Black guns are called so because they are made of black plastic, not because they are sold on the "black market". Never heard that one before, and it makes people think there is some huge black market of evil black guns out there somewhere. Please stop watching CSI Miami.

                          4. Every gun sold at a gun show is legal to own in California. There are plenty of law enforcement officers at a gun show, and I guarantee they would arrest any dealer selling illegal firearms, which would be a very serious felony. Yes, many manufacturers make some guns which are illegal to own in California because we have some of the strictest gun control laws in the country. They either sell modified California-legal versions of these guns, or don't do business in California. Mr. Corbett's comment about only 5 out of 50 guns sold in the state being legal is completely false.

Are firearms dealers required to capture the thumbprint on the DROS form for each firearm recipient?

Yes. The firearms dealer must require the firearm recipient to place his or her right thumbprint, in black ink, on the back of the DROS form. If the recipient is unable to comply, then the dealer should contact the DOJ at (916) 227-3703 for instructions.

                            (PC section 12077)

Not sure what you mean by this? But a thumbprint is required.

I don't remember ever giving a thumbprint when I bought a gun. Am I having a senior moment?
