The locks that come with the CZ 97B (off roster SKU) are not CA DOJ approved. So yes it is possible but any of the on roster versions should have a CA DOJ approved lock.

The roster is to eventually eliminate handgun sales in CA, but on the way down they are happy to rob everyone blind.

I thought if the lock originally came with the gun, it was good to go.

I've seen a couple LGS try to sell there own locks just to pile $ on the invoice.

                nope.

CA actually has 2 rosters, one for "not unsafe" handguns, and one for firearms safety devices certified for sale, http://oag.ca.gov/firearms/fsdcertlist/

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

I bought my H&K P2000 at Bass Pro. It came with a HK cable lock. Sorry, you have to buy another lock for 10 bucks. I bought a rifle & said I could bring in my own lock after the 10 day wait when I pick it up. Sorry- all guns sold at Bass Pro will also have a lock added to invoice. That was the last gun I bought there. I bought 3 guns at Turners this year & walked out with all three w/ no locks.

So, OP, plug your CZ model into the database referenced above and it will tell you which models of locks are approved by CA.

TRUE you must buy the cable lock that Gray Davis's brother holds the patent on.

We already have the only reasonable Gun Control we need, It's called the Second Amendment and it's the government it controls.

The cable lock from HK is CA compliant. You got screwed by Bass Pro.

Eta: yup the cable lock (the light blue one) from CZ is not CA compliant.

First you are chopping up historic vintage rifles and sticking them in cheap and nasty looking plastic "dildo" stocks that look like some kind of futuristic sex toy that gay space aliens stick up each other's butts.
