Had to re dros. Need advise

I purchased 4 ar lowers and had them FFL transfered to a lgs. When they received them from the two separate dealers, I came in and had them drosed. Today was day 10 and I had time to stop by to pick them up. While I was signing the petitions, the employee had the lowers and the release papers for me to sign and thumbprint. My wife pointed out to the employee that the name on dros papers wasn't me. The serial numbers matched but the person they drosed them to was someone else that lives in the same city. Looking confused, the employee went to the back, I knew they would have to be re drosed so I wasn't surprised when he came back apologizing saying that they have to dros them again. I left without any confirmation of the new dros or pick-up date. On the way home, I thought maybe the other guy they mixed me up with, picked up his firearm as me being the registered owner. Is there anyway I can check through the DOJ if that is the case? I will also call the lgs tomorrow but I doubt they will really dig into it.

There's a form you can send to DOJ to see which weapons are registered to you, but it's not very fast.

They better dig into it. Mistakes like that could probably cost them their license.

Yeah seriously, the fact they submitted that paperwork already and only NOW just noticed that? They need to get that looked up. That is a MASSIVE clusterbonk on those 4473s. How they missed the name not matching not once, not twice, but four times?! That's pretty damn inexcusable.

          Yikes...

I thought it was bad when Turners put my B-day as March 2018 (not even born yet) and the dros went through fine..

How the hell do they mix up names when they are double checking everything? They usually ask you to verify it all, with the info on the guns on the same page

I have no idea how this could have happened, I don't even know what their procedure is after I fill out the dros form or how it gets submitted. I tried contacting the other guy through Facebook but he has not replied to my message.

don't you get a copy of the DROS paperwork at the time of purchase?

what name was on those copies, yours or someone else's

I've been at gun shops where I've seen two employees working paperwork with 2 or 3 IDs laying on the counter in plain view of all.

                I shop elsewhere.

Negative on that. I only received a hand written invoice for the lower transfers with their serial numbers and make/ model. Very different from other places I've purchased before. I will request an approved dros statement when I pick up.

My first time at the store. I was also considering buying a Rem 700 from them, still might. I understand mistakes happen and I don't think it would be right for me to say their name. They are very reputable in my area. We're all on the same team, 2A!

It's not like you are telling us something that is made up. It's factual and the LGS should own up to there mistakes.

I have taken my paperwork and ID and flipped them over or covered them when they do this and piles of random customers and window shoppers are milling about trying to look at the guns in the displays.

I had a handgun DRO'S to me and they released it to someone else. They contacted the person and luckily got it back several days later. I received the gun, plus a box of 50 rounds for my delay / trouble. Mistakes happen, but this shop has been extremely thorough in the past, with two people double checking ALL paperwork etc... Not entirely sure how this happened on this one occasion. High volume sales and high traffic in shop? Who knows, but still a great shop to deal with.

Isnt the thumbprint at the time of DROS? Sounds like they didnt even start the actual DROS until you left and got all mixed up. Especially if you didnt even got a DROS pending paper.
