Dark parkerizing

I have an all h&r M14 kit that i am building on a GWOLA forged receiver. The receiver is a dark finish and the parts are a grey park finish

I am looking for somebody, locally (norcal) or anywhere, where I can send these parts to (barrel as well) to get a DARK park finish to match the receiver before its built. Thanks.

I was told by gunsmith who was doing some parkerizing for me that you can use cold blueing to darken it up.

Please, I'm not a gunsmith, and I don't know if this is true, but he matched my parts up, it's a nice and dark, plus durable. You might want to try it out on a hidden spot to see if it would work.

And if I'm wrong, please someone let me know

I would just use it as is, it will have a two tone look and after use it will all look matched as the parts get finish wear

and wiping it down with a coat of oil.

lots of surplus guns have a two toned look, it will give it some character

Only way to darken up park is pre-dip solution. If you're ever in southern Cali I can help

Repark yourself. Strip the original parts with acid, and boil in parkerizing solution. No blasting needed.

I bought solution, from Palmetto. Works beautifully, nice and dark black.

Bad idea. Will come out spotty, then will tint rust color in short order.

Why not leave alone? Originally they tended to have differences in color due to parts coming from different venders.
