    guns by the numbers

look at this site before the antis take it down.

A look at the most heavily-armed states, according to data from the ATF and U.S. Census Bureau

not sure if there numbers are right. but interesting on how the feds know how many guns and who owns them.

and then add in the unregistered guns.

I honestly think every gun purchase is still "registered" in some form. Whether it be under "rifle" or "firearm" I'm sure when every gun store does their taxes they have to file how many firearms they've sold. Therefore the feds can get an accurate number of how many new firearms have been sold all around the nation.

The first slide says it is NFA guns:

NFA firearms only include the categories regulated by The National Firearms Act of 1934
So, this list doesn't include regular rifles or handguns.

            Or, am I mis-reading it?

No, that's right; NFA guns only, nothing at all to do with non-NFA pistols and long guns.

That is, the report is useless if accuracy is important.

Seem to me this came up last year sometime, making this a slow-motion dupe,

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

OP & Librarian- Oh, thanks for reading more closely than I did! Those slides only refer to NFA weapons!

OP might consider editing the first post to clearly state the numbers refer to machine guns, etc., e.g, NFA firearms only. That would be nice!
